CATCHING UP WITH CARRIE - August 8, 2018

Education Forum with Carrie and Her Opponent
Hosted by the Wellsboro Gazette
Wednesday, August 15
6:30 - 8:00 pm
Grand Community Room
Deane Center for the Performing Arts
Main Street, Wellsboro

Education touches all of our lives, and it is extremely important to know where your representatives stand.

Come hear both candidates for PA’s 68th District discuss issues related to education. Doug Ulkins, former school superintendent, Region 4 Site Coordinator for PDA, will present the participants.

Carrie’s opponent attended only private schools. His children go to private school. He sat on the board of a private school.

Carrie attended public schools.  She teaches in public school.  She is a member of the teachers’ union.

Does someone you know think it doesn’t much matter who our local representative is? See if that person will come to this event with you.

Canvassing Training
Sunday, August 12
2:00 – 6:00 pm
Kinsman Hall
915 Front St, Athens, PA

I’ll say it  again - nothing gets the vote out like canvassing! That is why Carrie holds these training events all over the district. This time, she is coordinating with the Bradford County Democrats and the campaign of Donna Iannone, who is running to represent the other half of Bradford County.

Learn to canvass!  Meet your fellow Democrats - yes, there really are some and you’ll feel so much better when you all start working together. Talk to Carrie, Donna and each other about important issues and how to communicate them to other voters.

A note from your newsletter editor

Does the news drive you crazy? Do you fell helpless? Every day, I hear something awful. And every day I have a way to fight it, because I volunteer for Carrie.  You can fight it, too. Learn to canvass, or visit our website for lots of other ways to help.  You are the power for change.

Heath for House Racers!

The next race is coming up in 2 weeks, and we will have another chance to represent Carrie Heath and her campaign.  The Tioga Old Home Day 5K at the Tioga Fire Hall at 7 Rarrick Drive in Tioga on August 18, 2018 is the next race on our schedule.  The fee to enter the race is $18 before the race.

You do not have to run. You can walk the entire race. It is 3.1 miles. There are always walkers at these races. If you have friends that you would like to invite, please do that.

We only have a couple more races until Election Day!!
If you don’t want to race, consider coming out to cheer us on. The point of participating in these races is to get Carrie’s name and campaign out in the public, and keep it there until the election in November. We also want everyone to have a great time!

If you have any questions, please respond to this email and I will get it to our Team Captain.  If this is the first time you or a friend are participating, let us know your size(s), and we will bring you a shirt. (See more race information and how to enter -  below)

Do You Like to Run? Or Walk?
So many people attend racing events. Our race team, with our standout turquoise shirts, is a great way to raise public awareness that, yes, there is actually a Democratic Candidate and, yes, she has real support. If all you do is walk -great.  That gives people more time to see you, read your t-shirt and maybe talk to you.

One of the challenges we still face in the 68th district is just letting people know Carrie is here and running for office. No one is used to the Democrats even trying, so we have to get the word out.

So many people go to these race events! The more of us put on those stylish teal shirts and run or walk as a team, the more visible we will be. Or put on your t-shirt and cheer your team on. And tell the other onlookers about Carrie.

We’ll keep you informed about future races.  Here is our current listing:
